Day 4 of Trek - Rest Day in Viverone

Ok, so we put in three good days of walking and now we take a rest day in Viverone. We booked a little beach house on Lago (Lake) Viverone. It turned out to a great find and a great time.

This is the seating area for a bar (Bar in Italy is the equivalent of a cafe in the US. They serve sandwiches, coffees, beer and wine, etc) on the shore of lago Viverone. It was about 100 yards or less form our beach house. it was agreat place to hang out, rest, watch the lake, etc.

Then we met these Brits. Two great gentlemen. They were staying in the beach house next to ours. The one on the left stopped us on our return form the lake and asked, "Buongirno, do you speak any English?" We laughed and said , yes, we are American. It is interesting to me that we don't seem to stand out as foreigners since people hear us speaking Italian. I have been stopped 3 or 4 times already and asked for directions. Once I even knew where to tell them to go. So, the Brit says he and his buddy are having drinks about 6 and would we like to come over and join them? He said they had also invited the couple in the next house over who were from Switzerland.
This is what it is all about. We ended up spending the whole evening with them. First we had a glass of wine and talked. The guy on the right with the long hair is also walking the Via Francigena. His buddy is going along in the car as support. They have been walking international trails for many years. The evening was great. We got acquainted with the couple from Switzerland and as time went on they said they had some sausges and beef and were going to barbecue and we may as well all stay and eat with them. I had some very interesting conversation with the long haired Brit about Northern Ireland, coal mining, traveling, etc. He annd I talked while he cooked on the barbecue. He  commented that it was amazing that two men who were from different worlds had so many memories and experiences in common. Four new friends.
