I had a great time watching four men play bocce ball yesterday evening in Pont St Martin. Three were elderly and one younger man. The three elders had obviously been playing for years and the younger man ( I believe) was the son of one of them. They were amazing to watch and took their play very seriously, yet could be good humored when things didn't go their way I was pretty mesmerized for about an hour. I loved it. They could roll the ball within inches of the jack (small red ball) or launch a fly ball a knock an opponents ball out with a direct hit. The accuacy was awesome
They were playing on a bocce ball court with several areas to play and a grandstand that would hold at least two or three hundred people. I think they take their bocce seriously in Pont St Martin.
Now I have to look further into bocce. Maybe I can start a new fad in Texas.
